Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is making his first stop of the 2025 Pro Day circuit, attending the University of Georgia for the Bulldogs’ workout Wednesday. NFL Network’s Taylor Bisciotti shared the news Wednesday morning.
Bo Underwood provided a snapshot of Tomlin.
Per D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith is in attendance with Tomlin.
It’s no surprise to see Tomlin at Georgia, a regular stop given the Bulldogs’ annual list of NFL-ready prospects. Their 2025 class features several marquee players, including likely first-round linebackers in Jalon Walker and Mykel Williams. While neither is likely to be on Pittsburgh’s radar, Walker is an off-ball/EDGE hybrid who has earned some Micah Parsons comparisons. In 2024, he recorded 60 tackles (11 TFL) with 6.5 sacks. Williams registered five sacks and a pair of forced fumbles.
Safety Malaki Starks is considered top of his class and is also expected to hear his name called in the first round. In three years at Georgia, he intercepted six passes and recorded 17 pass breakups, earning All-American honors in 2023.
A trio of offensive linemen are expected to be drafted in OG Tate Ratledge, OG Dylan Fairchild, and C Jared Wilson. Ratledge was a third-team All-American in 2024 while Fairchild was named to the second team. Wilson is regarded a one of the class’s better center prospects.
Defensive lineman Nazir Stackhouse and running back Trevor Etienne are Day 3 candidates. Stackhouse’s production was light, just three career sacks, but his presence helped free up teammates. Etienne, the younger brother of Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne, impressed with a strong NFL Combine workout. A Florida transfer, he rushed for 609 yards and nine scores in his lone season with the Bulldogs.
We’ll update this post if and when we spot other Steelers personnel, including whether GM Omar Khan also made the trip. Or if scouts or positional coaches accompanied Tomlin instead.
Pittsburgh hasn’t been shy about drafting Georgia players, especially under Khan. Two have been selected across his two classes, the Steelers drafting OT Broderick Jones and TE Darnell Washington in 2023. WR George Pickens was selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
