2025 NFL Draft

Pittsburgh Steelers 2025 Undrafted Free Agent Tracker (Finalized)

Steelers playoff scenario schedule draft rooting guide salary cap Pro Day picks trade undrafted free agent

The 2025 NFL Draft is in the books. But draft weekend is far from over. For the remainder of Saturday and into Sunday, the Pittsburgh Steelers will sign a handful of undrafted free agents to round out their roster and this year’s rookie class.

Below is our yearly tracker sharing the prospects the Steelers reportedly have signed to UDFA deals. Keep in mind nothing is official until announced by the team. Though rare, the free-for-all nature of the process occasionally causes a prospect to change commitments and pivot to another team.

Pittsburgh can be expected to sign an undrafted class of 6-8 players. The Steelers’ initial 2024 class consisted of five names.

Be sure to bookmark this page and refresh. It will not update on its own.

UPDATE (9:50 PM): The Steelers have announced their seven official UDFA signings. They are below. The team will invite many more players to rookie minicamp in two weeks on a tryout basis, meaning they won’t be under contract.

Steelers FINALIZED UDFA SIGNINGS

Roc Taylor/WR Memphis (via Matt Zenitz)
DJ Thomas-Jones/FB South Alabama (via Tom Pelissero)
Sebastian Castro/DB Iowa (via Luca Evans)
Aiden Williams/OL Minnesota-Duluth (via Jeremy Fowler)
Ben Sauls/K Pittsburgh (via kicker central & Jim Dabbelt)
JJ Galbreath/TE South Dakota (via Jay Elsen)
Ke’Shawn Williams/WR Indiana (via Burt Lauten)

UPDATE: After initially reporting West Virginia LS Austin Brickman was signing with Pittsburgh, Tom Pelissero reports Brickman is signing with the Houston Texans. As we noted above, occasionally, players change teams during the chaotic UDFA process.

NOTES*

Taylor measured in at 6017, 213 pounds and runs a 4.49 40-yard dash. In four years at Memphis, Taylor caught 163 passes for more than 2,300 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2024, Taylor hauled in 66 passes for 950 yard and in 2023, he crossed the 1,000-yard mark.

Thomas-Jones is reportedly receiving a $30,000 signing bonus, largest ever handed out by Pittsburgh to a non-QB UDFA. Jones caught 22 passes for 191 yards and three touchdowns last season for the Jaguars. At his Pro Day, he measured in at 6015, 250 pounds with 33 1/8-inch arms. He ran a 4.63 40-yard dash.

Castro is versatile and productive, recording 57 tackles (three for a loss) with two forced fumbles and one interception last season. Undersized and a poor tester, Castro weighed in at 5112, 203 pounds at the NFL Combine and dropped down to 197 pounds for his Pro Day. He ran a 4.59 at Indy with a 30.5-inch vertical.

Still, our scouting report talked up his play and we put a fourth round grade on him (written before his testing). Our report is below.

Pittsburgh showed interest in Williams at the East/West Shrine Bowl, measuring in at 6055, 314 pounds with 32 1/4-inch arms. An Alaska native, he played 40 games at the D-II level. Our scouting report, which gave him a draftable grade, is below.

Ben Sauls served as the Panthers kicker and had a big 2024 season, showing off a strong leg and routinely hitting from 50-plus yards. Pittsburgh brought him in for a pre-draft visit. And you better believe we have a scouting report on him.

South Dakota TE JJ Galbreath is an athletic tight end who found a fit in the offense after a coordinator change. Despite dealing with a shoulder injury in 2024 that caused him to miss seven weeks, he still recorded 32 receptions for 469 yards and four touchdowns in his final season.

Weighing in at 6033, 231 pounds, he ran a 4.67 at his Pro Day with an elite 6.82 three cone time. Our report gave him a draftable grade, writing:

“Overall, JJ Galbreath is an intriguing “move” tight end who runs fluid routes, can make tough catches, and was highly productive over his last two years. He benefitted from an offensive coordinator change to Josh Davis that challenged but allowed him to flourish.

With athletic move tight ends routinely coming from the FCS levels – Dallas Goedert, Zack Kuntz, Tucker Kraft, Zach Davidson, Adam Trautman, to name a few – Galbreth is set to be next in line. He has the size, athleticism, blocking want-to, and versatility to stick in the NFL. My comp is Dennis Pitta.

Our full scouting report is below.

Williams is a native of Philadelphia and transferred to Indiana for the 2024 season. He played in all 13 games for the Hoosiers, hauling in 39 receptions for 448 yards and five touchdowns. He also added two punts returns for 36 yards and had one kick return for 25 yards.

Williams previously spent four seasons at Wake Forest before transferring to Indiana. At Wake Forest, Williams had 107 receptions for 1,385 yards and five touchdowns for the Demon Deacons.
