The Jacksonville Jaguars did not have a single player’s injury designation change for their Thursday practice ahead of their Week Eight matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their injury report released Thursday was identical to their Wednesday report, as WR Zay Jones remained out of practice with a knee injury, the only player who missed practice.
QB Trevor Lawrence was still limited with a knee injury, but he will play Sunday barring a setback. CB Tyson Campbell was limited with a hamstring injury, as was S Andre Cisco for the second day in a row. OL Walker Little (knee) and OL Brandon Scherff (ankle) were both limited, while CB Gregory Junior (hamstring) and DT DaVon Hamilton (back) were full participants.
The Steelers had a scare on the injury report today, as WR Diontae Johnson did not practice because of a hamstring injury. He had a hamstring injury that he suffered in Week One landed him on IR, but he was able to return and be productive against the Los Angeles Rams last week.
For Jacksonville, Campbell missed the team’s Week Seven win over the New Orleans Saints with his hamstring injury. The Jaguars’ No. 1 corner, his status is worth monitoring to see if he’ll be able to log a full practice tomorrow. Jones is a productive receiver who has missed a lot of time with his knee injury this season, but back-to-back DNPs don’t bode well for his status heading into the matchup with Pittsburgh.
Tomorrow will be a key day for both Campbell and Jones, but out of the two, Campbell seems by far the more likely to suit up. He’s someone Pittsburgh is going to have to pay attention to in the secondary if he does play Sunday.
