Easter Weekend: Steelers Friday Night Five Questions

Steelers Depot Friday Night Five Questions

Happy Friday and I hope yinz are doing well.

The NFL Draft is quickly approaching and we are finishing up our final batch of NFL Draft player profiles, mock drafts, and other draft-related content. The Pittsburgh Steelers have made all their free agency signings official and have rounded out their coaching staff, too. Meanwhile the team’s parade of pre-draft visitors is nearing its end. Hoping you all have a great Easter weekend; we’ll have you covered for whatever news breaks over the weekend.

Hope you all have a great weekend and that you enjoy following our continued coverage. I thank you for visiting the site and we appreciate all of your great feedback. As always, we have five Friday night questions for you to answer.

Peace and love, peace and love!

1 – After a busy free agency, what position group is the Steelers current biggest need?

2 – Do you believe the Steelers will trade OG Kevin Dotson during the draft?

3 – Who is your all-time favorite Steelers draft selection? (someone that really excited you when their name announced)

4 – Assume the Steelers draft an OT in the draft. Will they have been predominantly a LT or RT in their college career?

5 – Mike Tomlin was recently ranked the sixth best head coach in the NFL. Where would you rank him?

Recap of Seventh 2023 Offseason Weekend Friday Night 5 Questions

Question 1: Overall, Steelers Depot respondents were excited about the prospect of the Steelers signing OLB Bud Dupree. In a 14-10 vote, even the folks who were less than excited expressed satisfaction if Dupree signed at the right price. His age and recent injury history may have dampened enthusiasm. If Pittsburgh does sign Dupree, hope he proves to be both durable and disruptive to opposing offenses.

Question 2: We had varied opinions about players being allowed to wear the number 0. Six respondents do not favor players wearing the number zero. Eleven said they liked the idea. And seven don’t care one way or the other. Johnny “Zero” Clement is the only Steeler to wear the number in the regular season. He played from 1946 to 1948. Who will be the next Steeler wearing it?

Question 3: Steelers Depot respondents predict the Steelers selecting a cornerback with their first-round pick by a narrow 12-to-10 margin. Two folks said Pittsburgh will not select a cornerback with the overall 17 or 32 pick in this year’s draft.

Question 4: Respondents believe the Steelers will select a big slot versus a smaller, shifty classic slot by a comfortable 19 to five majority. They may already have a classic slot in Calvin Austin. Let’s see what happens.

Question 5: We are comfortable with Zach Gentry as the number two TE in 2023 by a 19 to five margin.

Here are the consensus responses of Steelers Depot respondents compared to the correct answers:
