The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Indianapolis Colts 26-24 Sunday at Heinz Field and the team did suffer a few more injuries during the contest.
According to head coach Mike Tomlin during his post-game press conference, running back Trey Edmunds (ribs), wide receiver Ryan Switzer (ribs) and fullback Roosevelt Nix (knee) were all banged up in the Sunday win over the Colts.
“All those guys will be evaluated,: Tomlin said after the game. “Hopefully it won’t prevent them from moving forward here next week.”
Switzer was likely injured during the second half when he took a hard hit just after fielding a punt. As for Edmunds and Nix, it wasn’t noticeable when they suffered their injuries during the game. Nix, according to Tomlin, reaggravated the knee injury that he had suffered in Week 1 that resulted in him missing the next five games.
The Steelers had three players miss Sunday’s game against the Colts with injuries as running backs Benny Snell Jr. (knee) and James Conner (shoulder) were both inactive along with guard Ramon Foster (concussion).
While Foster might be back next week, Snell is likely to miss at least one more game. As for Conner, some early reports from Sunday morning suggested that he’s already considered questionable for the team’s next game.
