RB James Conner is expected to miss his second straight week due to a shoulder injury, per the PPG’s Gerry Dulac.
Conner suffered an AC Sprain in his right shoulder late in the fourth quarter of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 8 win over the Miami Dolphins. He was limited at yesterday’s practice.
Jaylen Samuels is expected to receive his second straight start. Last week, he set a team record for most receptions by a running back with 13 grabs in Sunday’s win over the Indianapolis Colts. But he struggled running the ball with eight carries for just 10 yards. Trey Edmunds found the most success, 12 rushes for 73 yards, including a 45 yard run in the first quarter.
In seven games this season, Conner’s carried the ball 97 times for 380 yards, an average of 3.9 YPC, and four rushing touchdowns. He’s still second on the team with 29 receptions for 236 yards and two more scores.
