The Pittsburgh Steelers made one transaction Wednesday morning as tight end Alize Mack has been released from the team’s practice squad.
Mack was signed to the Steelers practice squad last week and ahead of the team trading for tight end Nick Vannett. The Steelers still have tight ends Kevin Rader and Christian Scotland-Williamson on their practice squad following the Wednesday release of Mack but they now have an open practice squad spot to fill.
The Wednesday release of Mack could be a sign that tight end Vance McDonald, who missed the Week 4 Monday night game with a shoulder injury, might be healthy enough now to resume practicing.
The Steelers will will conduct their first practice of Week 5 on Wednesday and the team will then release their first injury report ahead of their Sunday home game against the Baltimore Ravens soon thereafter.
