The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially announced they will wear their 1978-1979 jerseys as throwback uniforms in 2018. They will take place of the “Bumblebees” the team has sported for several years.
The jerseys pay homage to the Steel Curtain and Pittsburgh team that won four Super Bowls under Chuck Noll throughout the 1970s, transforming the team from lovable losers into a dynasty.
These jerseys were leaked earlier in the week and if you’ve followed the site, probably don’t come as much of a surprise.
You can check out a photo shoot with wide receiver-turned-model JuJu Smith-Schuster over on the team site.
The Steelers will wear them Week 8 against the Cleveland Browns. The team will also wear these throwback jerseys in 2019 as well.
