I don’t think it’ll surprise anyone but it’ll sure make you feel better. Ben Roethlisberger took to Twitter to announce he’s returning for the 2017 season, finally ending all rumors and thought he could retire.
The Steelers’ front office has been confident for two months Roethlisberger would return for his 14th season. Speaking at league meetings, Mike Tomlin said he never broached the topic with Ben but was working under the assumption his franchise QB would return.
Roethlisberger originally hinted at entertaining the retirement idea shortly after the AFC Title game loss to the New England Patriots, fueling endless speculation. But that speculation can end and the Steelers now know with certainty they’ll have their QB in 2017.
Can’t wait until the 2018 retirement talk!
