The Tennessee pro day is taking place on Friday and as expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers have several key people on hand to observe it.
According to Tiffany Blackmon of the NFL Network, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and defensive coordinator Keith Butler are both present at the Tennessee pro day. This year’s Tennessee pro day is being headlined by edge rusher Derek Barnett, cornerback Cameron Sutton, quarterback Josh Dobbs and running back Alvin Kamara.
Barnett, who is expected to be selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, recorded 33 total sacks during the 39 games he played in at Tennessee. He measured in at the scouting combine at 6030, 259-pounds with 32 1/8-inch arms and ran the 40-yard-dash in 4.88 seconds.
As for Sutton, who played 45 games during his college career, he registered 127 total tackles, 7 interceptions and 30 pass breakups dating back to 2013. The Steelers have shown interest in Sutton dating back to the Senior Bowl. Sutton is expected to be selected somewhere during day-two of the draft. He measured in at 5112, 188-pounds at the combine and ran the 40-yard-dash in 4.52 seconds.
