The (9-6) Pittsburgh Steelers will play the (3-12) Cleveland Browns on the road Sunday afternoon at FirstEnergy Stadium and as usual, here is my weekly guess at what the seven-player inactive list might look like when it is released 90 minutes before kickoff.
Mike Vick – As usual, Vick is one of the easiest inactives to guess being as he’s been the No. 3 quarterback since he injured a hamstring way back in Week 6. Vick hasn’t dressed for a game since them and that’s not going to change Sunday against the Browns.
Byron Stingily – Ever since he was signed in Week 7, Stingily hasn’t dressed for a game as the coaching staff has decided to give the backup offensive linemen helmets to Chris Hubbard and Doug Legursky. He’ll be down again Sunday barring another offensive lineman tripping while getting off the team bus.
L.T. Walton – The Steelers sixth-round draft pick hasn’t dressed for a game since Week 8 and with all of the players ahead of him on the depth chart being fully healthy, you can count on Walton not dressing Sunday against the Browns.
Doran Grant – Being as Grant missed practice time this week and ended listed as questionable with a groin injury, I’ll go ahead and guess that he’ll be down this week. The team promoted safety Ross Ventrone on Friday and that’s a good sign he’ll dress against the Browns and help out on special teams.
Sammie Coates – Assuming wide receiver Martavis Bryant is able to play Sunday after ending the week as questionable with an illness, Coates will likely be inactive for a sixth consecutive week.
Jordan Todman – There is currently no reason to believe that Todman will dress Sunday even though fullback Roosevelt Nix was lost for the season last weekend with a broken bone in his foot. Fellow running back Fitzgerald Toussaint has been getting a helmet as of late instead of Todman and I will be surprised if that changes on Sunday.
Anthony Chickillo – Being as the Steelers promoted linebacker L.J. Fort from the practice squad earlier in the week to take the place of Nix, one would think that he will be given a helmet on Sunday so that he can help out as a core special teams player against the Browns. If that winds up being the case, Chickillo will likely be inactive once again.
