Even though Super Bowl 50 is still over one week away, odds for Super Bowl LI are already out and neither team playing in this year’s big game is favored to win it all in 2016.
According to the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, the Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers all opened up as 8/1 favorites to win Super Bowl LI, which will take place in Houston, TX on February 5, 2017. The Patriots and Steelers are both 7/2 favorites to win the AFC next season.
The Steelers should be able to keep most of their offense intact over the course of the offseason in addition to getting back several key players who missed extensive playing time during the 2015 season with injuries. That list of players includes running back Le’Veon Bell and center Maurkice Pouncey.
While the Steelers stand to lose a few free agents on both sides of the football during the offseason, the odds-makers don’t appear to be too terribly concerned about that. I’m sure these odds will get shuffled a little bit after Super Bowl 50 is played a week from this coming Sunday and I will pass along any updates as soon as I see them.
