In roughly 90 minutes from now, the Pittsburgh Steelers will host the Indianapolis Colts at Heinz Field but they’ll do so without the services of veteran tight end Heath Miller, who will sit the game out with a rib injury that he suffered in the first half of last week’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
With Miller sidelined Sunday night, tight ends Matt Spaeth and Jesse James will need to help absorb the snaps that Miller normally plays. This will mark just the eighth regular-season game that Miller has missed during his long career.
Miller is joined on the Steelers week 13 inactive list by linebacker Sean Spence, quarterback Mike Vick, tackle Byron Stingily, wide receiver Sammie Coates, defensive end L.T. Walton and running back Jordan Todman. This marks the first time that Todman has been inactive this season. It also marks the first time that running back Fitzgerald Toussaint has dressed with the Steelers since being promoted from the practice squad.
