Pittsburgh Steelers safety Will Allen has left the Monday night game against the San Diego Chargers with a left ankle injury and he will not return.
Allen injured his ankle while attempting to make a first quarter tackle. He had been beaten earlier in the game for a touchdown by Chargers tight end Antonio Gates.
Allen was replaced in the game by safety Robert Golden.
The Chargers currently lead the Steelers 7-0.
