With cornerback Ike Taylor sidelined several weeks with a broken forearm, William Gay will start opposite Cortez Allen in the Pittsburgh Steelers base defense. However, starting Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Antwon Blake is not expected to be the third cornerback in the game.
#Steelers Brice McCain will be third CB vs. Tampa Bay. He will go in slot and William Gay will stay on edge in nickel defense.

According to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Brice McCain will be the Steelers nickel cornerback against the Buccaneers and that means Gay will remain lined up outside.
This isn’t very surprising at all as Gay will be best outside to matchup against either Vincent Jackson or Mike Evans as both are at 6’4″.
The Steelers, however, might not be forced to play too much nickel in this game as the Buccaneers like to use a lot of 12, 22 and 21 personnel groupings.
McCain was signed as a free agent during the offseason after he was released by the Houston Texans.
