There’s a new injury to report Tuesday as Pittsburgh Steelers second-year linebacker Vince Williams has been taken off the field on a cart. According to several reports on Twitter, the severity and nature of the injury are not yet known.
Williams, who was drafted by the Steelers in the sixth-round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Florida State, is currently the backup buck linebacker behind starter Lawrence Timmons.
As a rookie, Williams started 11 games in 2013 after starter Larry Foote was lost for the year to a biceps injury in the season opener.
In the Saturday night preseason opener against the New York Giants, Williams played 26 snaps on defense and was credited with five total tackles and a quarterback hurry.
