The Pittsburgh Steelers had two offensive free agents in for visits on Wednesday and both have reportedly left the facility unsigned.
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Lance Moore and Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew both had their visits and left the Steelers facility without contracts. It is unknown if either were offered deals.
This news isn’t really surprising. In the case of Moore, the Steelers are likely waiting for free agent wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery to choose between returning to Pittsburgh and signing with the Carolina Panthers. Cotchery met with the Panthers a few days ago.
In the case of Jones-Drew, he probably wants to make a few more visits before deciding where to play in 2014. When Adam Schefter of ESPN reported earlier in the day that the longtime Jaguars running back was headed to Pittsburgh for a visit, he also mentioned that other teams had interest in the UCLA product.
As of right now, no other free agent visits to Pittsburgh have been reported as being scheduled, but that of course could change at any time.
