Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Shaun Suisham has had a great season thus far and on Wednesday he was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
It\’s the second time that Suisham has won the award as he also won it following the Week 5 win over the Philadelphia Eagles in a game that saw him also kick a game winner.
Suisham is a perfect 23-for-23 on extra points this season and has only missed one kick in 25 attempts this year. On Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens he drilled 42-yard kick right down the middle at the end of regulation to give the Steelers a 23-20 win.
Suisham was a perfect 3-for-3 (46, 41, 42) on field goals in the game and the final one marked the seventh game-winning field goal of his career, his third this season and fifth as a member of the Steelers.
The Steelers rewarded Suisham with a four-year contract prior to the 2011 season and he is thus under contract through the 2014 season.
