New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis suffered a mild concussion in the Jets 48-28 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, but he is expected to suit up next week against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
When asked on Monday whether or not Revis would play Sunday, Jets head coach Rex Ryan said that he would “lean on the doctors and the trainers”
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported Monday night that the Jets will put Revis through additional testing this week, but “essentially he looks to be a go at this point in time.”
Revis is undoubtedly one of the best cornerbacks in the game today, and would be hard to replace should he ultimately not play on Sunday. Revis was kicked in a head by teammate Bart Scott while making a tackle of Bills running back C.J. Spiller in the fourth quarter of the Jets resounding win.
Expect Revis to likely be limited early this week in practice, but it is hard to see him missing this game. Sunday will be a homecoming of sorts for the Jets cornerback, who played his college ball at the University of Pittsburgh
