Keenan Lewis Suffers AC Shoulder Sprain Sunday

Day five of Pittsburgh Steelers training camp is complete and there were a few more minor injuries to report from the Sunday practice as starting cornerback Keenan Lewis suffered an AC sprain in one of his shoulders on a sideline collision. Lewis figures to be sidelined for at least a few days and even more with the injury. The injury also now means more reps for both Curtis Brown and Cortez Allen.

Tight end Heath Miller was still sidelined with his ankle injury and punter Jeremy Kapinos apparently also did not work with continued back stiffness. Nose tackle Alameda Ta\’amu and linebacker Sean Spence were both back today working. Guard David DeCastro and tackle Trai Essex both suffered rolled ankles today, but neither injury is expected to sideline them, as Monday is an off day.

Some good news was reported for one of the players on the PUP list on Sunday as it appears that safety Damon Cromartie-Smith will be allowed to start practicing on Wednesday. Cromartie-Smith had surgery on one of his shoulders this offseason and that was the reason he started training camp on the list.

Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders was given the day off was because the Steelers practiced on the turf field today because of all the recent rains.
