Geoff Hobson reports on the Bengals official website that free agent tight end Reggie Kelly is still in contact with the Steelers after his visit to Latrobe a few days ago and denied a report by Gerry Dulac that he is retired. Kelly said he knows Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians well as Arians recruited Kelly to Mississippi State many years ago and also coached him there for a year. Kelly said, “I don\’t know how it\’s going to work out, but it was a great visit.”
Kelly said he talked with the Bengals about re-signing at the start of free agency, but both sides agreed it was best to part ways. He is 34-years old and is looking to play a 13th season in the league. As it looks right now, he is in a holding pattern.
