Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward reputation and brand took a serious hit early this morning as the website TMZ is reporting that Ward was arrested in Dekalb County, Georgia this morning for driving under the influence of alcohol.
According to the report, Ward was held on a $1,000 bond which he posted shortly after the arrest and was subsequently released. According to the booking info from the Dekalb County website, Ward\’s longtime friend Corey D. Allen posted bail.
Ward won Dancing With the Stars this past offseason and is a Georgia native as he played his college ball in Athens for the Bulldogs. He has been working out there with several other former Georgia & Georgia Tech players after fully recovering from thumb surgery following his dance show win.
It has been reported that Ward will release statement through a rep at some point today.
