Steelers wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders underwent a second foot surgery this week on the foot he injured during Super Bowl XLV against the Green Bay Packers. Sanders announced the news on his Facebook page Monday and has to spend the next few days with his left foot elevated. Sanders injured the foot in the second quarter and it was reported as a small break. He underwent his first surgery on the foot when he returned to Pittsburgh and the second surgery reportedly was minor and went well. Sanders should hopefully be fully recovered when and if training camp opens later this Summer.
Sanders made a quick climb up the Steelers depth chart as a rookie and finished as the Steelers number three receiver. He caught 28 balls for 376 yards and scored 2 touchdowns during the regular season. He also chipped in another 7 catches for 91 yards in the playoffs.
