The Steelers allowed 3 sacks Sunday afternoon against the Baltimore Ravens and we have the breakdowns of all of them below in animated gif form. On the 1st sack and famous broken nose sack, Haloti Ngata attacks the A gap between Ramon Foster and Maurkice Pouncey after Pouncey looks to help left, first. Flozell Adams has his hands full with a speedy Terrell Suggs, but the damage is done by Ngata and Suggs just helps finish things. Tavares Gooden comes post snap and might have been in the back of the head of Foster or Foster might have thought he had more help to his left from Pouncey coming. Regardless, this gets pinned on Foster. Pretty easy call.
On the 2nd sack, Jarret Johnson takes the long way around Flozell Adams and Adams does a pretty good job keeping him outside the pocket. Cory Redding rushes straight ahead on Ramon Foster and makes sure that Foster can not help any inside. Haloti Ngata works the A gap between Chris Kemoeatu and Maurkice Pouncey and trips up both Kemoeatu and Jonathan Scott. Terrell Suggs starts the play lined up across from Scott and then loops around up the middle and runs right over Pouncey who had been looking to help Foster then Kemoeatu. In all it is a coverage sack as the full replay shows, but we have to put some blame on Pouncey here as well.
On the 3rd and final sack, Jonathan Scott gives up a little pressure on the end to Jarret Johnson albeit not real bad. Ben Roethlisberger still has time to step up into the pocket and after a pump fake, steps up again into the waiting arms of Cory Redding who is coming off being tied up by Chris Kemoeatu. This really is on Ben and a coverage sack as 5 seconds was plenty of protection.
