Steelers rookie receiver Emmanuel Sanders was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week by the NFL on Wednesday. Sanders led the NFL in kick return yards with 144 on five returns for a 28.8-yard average in the Steelers 23-22 win over the Miami Dolphins this past Sunday. In the fourth quarter, his 48-yard return gave the Steelers excellent field position that culminated with the game-winning kick by Jeff Reed. All of this came after Sanders fumbled the opening kickoff that resulted in a Dolphins field goal. Sanders chipped in a tackle on kick coverage and is starting to be used more on offense in 3 and 4 wide receiver sets. He has 3 catches over the past two games for his efforts and a nice block on the Hines Ward touchdown this past Sunday.
