‘I Don’t See Disaster Here’: Rich Eisen Predicts Steelers Go 10-7, Make Playoffs

Rich Eisen

The past few seasons have all felt very similar for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They’ve managed to finish with nine or 10 wins and stay in the playoff picture. However, they’ve been unable win a postseason game since the 2016 season. Not only do the Steelers want to change that, but they also want to compete for a Super Bowl. Whole they made several big moves this offseason, not everyone believes that they’ve improved. Rich Eisen is optimistic about their future, though.

“I don’t see disaster here,” Eisen said recently on his show. “I see that there is a plan. If [Aaron] Rodgers can remain healthy, at this advanced age, I see it working. Number of wins for the Steelers? I’d say 10. I have the Steelers second in the division, and I have them being a playoff team. Aaron Rodgers in a Steelers uniform in a playoff game, potentially for the last time in his career, lock me in.”

Winning 10 games and making the playoffs would be a nice season for the Steelers. However, it might be frustrating for fans if the team fails to win a playoff game again. The Steelers did a lot this offseason in order to raise their ceiling. That includes signing Aaron Rodgers and trading for DK Metcalf and Jalen Ramsey. If, after all of that, they still go one-and-done in the playoffs, then some fans might feel like the season was a disaster.

There’s no guarantee that all of the Steelers’ new pieces will fit together, too. Players like Rodgers and Ramsey have been great in the past, but there’s no telling how much they have left in the tank. Also, like Eisen mentions, the Steelers’ health could seriously impact how their season goes.

We’ll see if Eisen’s prediction comes true. Hopefully, if it does, they follow that up with a playoff win. That would be a step in the right direction, even if they aren’t legitimate Super Bowl contenders. On paper, the Steelers look like a solid team. Whether that’s true or not in reality remains to be seen.
