HOGE TRIBUTE TO WOLFLEY
NFL free agency got rolling today, but there was some sad news for Steelers fans. Former Steelers offensive lineman Craig Wolfley unfortunately passed away. Wolfley was with the team from 1980 to 1989. He also served as a broadcaster for many years. He was a kind person who brought joy to the franchise, even after his playing days were over.
Former Steelers running back Merril Hoge posted a nice tribute to Wolfley on Twitter. Hoge and Wolfley were teammates from 1987 to 1989. Hoge’s tribute is nice, though. It captures what Wolfley meant to so many and why he will be missed so dearly.
J.J. WATT JOKES ABOUT T.J. WATT
The Steelers made a few moves in free agency, but there was another significant addition to the fandom. T.J. Watt became a father, with he and his wife welcoming a daughter into the world. It’s a nice piece of news that might’ve flown under the radar during free agency madness. However, J.J. Watt did not miss it.
On his Twitter, Watt joked about whether he had missed any moves in free agency. One person mentioned that his brother also had some pretty big news. Watt had a funny response, joking that his niece is the “biggest free agent pickup of the year so far.” For the Watt family, that’s probably true. It’s an exciting new chapter in their lives.
FREIERMUTH IRISH JERSEY PRESENTATION
While things were getting exciting in the NFL world, Pat Freiermuth was off in Ireland promoting the Steelers’ upcoming game there. It will mark the NFL’s first regular season game in Ireland. The Steelers did play in a preseason game there before, though. It looks like Freiermuth is taking part in some fun activities there.
As Gaelic Gridiron shared on Twitter, Freiermuth made a special appearance for a jersey presentation before a game between two American football clubs in Ireland. It looks like multiple jerseys were brought to the occasion. Hopefully, that helped to build excitement for the Steelers game.
