After a tweet that suggested Antonio Brown had turned the corner, he’s in the headlines for typical AB reasons. According to TMZ, Brown is being sued by Shuki International for $1.095 million, which Brown allegedly owes the celebrity jeweler company.
From TMZ, which writes that it obtained a copy of the suit: Shuki International spelled out the allegations against the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver in a new lawsuit filed in Los Angeles this week … claiming he gave Brown several pieces of jewelry back in 2022, under the promise that AB would pay him $1,095,000 for it all. The problem … according to the suit, obtained by TMZ Sports, Brown never paid up.”
Among the most valuable items Brown was given was a pair of “diamond fingers,” which can be seen in the TMZ article, worth roughly $500,000. According to the lawsuit, Brown was supposed to pay the jeweler back by December 1, 2022. It alleges he never did. Per TMZ, Shuki’s attorney is expected to publicly address the lawsuit later in the week.
This is far from the first time Brown has been sued. But this comes with a hefty price tag. Legally, Brown has been in the news off and of over the years. Most recently, he had an arrest warrant out for him in December on a domestic battery allegation. At the time, he was reportedly “hunkered down” in his house with cops outside his home. It’s unclear what the resolution was to the situation, and to public knowledge Brown was never arrested.
Brown hasn’t played in the NFL since storming off the field midway through a 2021 game as a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His NFL career is over, his reputation severely tarnished. No longer is the seven-time Pro Bowler remembered as one of football’s greats but thought of for everything that’s happened since forcing a trade out of Pittsburgh.
