With their final selection of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Maryland OL Spencer Anderson with the 251st overall selection.
A versatile offensive lineman, Spencer has experience at tackle, guard, and center. In 2022, he started 12 games at RG and one at right tackle.
Pittsburgh is adding late-round depth to round out its offensive line room and potentially add a backup behind Mason Cole. At Maryland’s Pro Day, he weighed in at 6050, 309 pounds with 32 1/8-inch arms. He ran a 5.18 40 and put up 29 reps on the bar with a 30.5 inch vertical.
Anderson will compete for a final roster spot or try to make it on the practice squad. He’ll battle former third-round pick Kendrick Green and Ryan McCollum for a final spot along with a likely host of undrafted free agents.
The Steelers are done for the draft. They’ll now look towards free agency to fill the rest of their 90-man offseason roster.
