Browns Acquire WR Elijah Moore From Jets Via Trade

The Pittsburgh Steelers will have a new wide receiver to cover in the AFC North as the Cleveland Browns are reportedly acquiring Elijah Moore from the New York Jets via a Wednesday trade.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Jets are sending Moore and their third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Browns in exchange for a second-round pick.

Moore, who played his college football at Mississippi, was selected by the Jets in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. In two seasons with the Jets, Moore recorded 80 receptions for 984 yards and six touchdowns in 27 total games played. He also rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown on 10 attempts.

Last season, Moore registered three receptions for 53 yards in the Jets’ Week 4 win over the Steelers at Acrisure Stadium. Moore also had one rushing attempt for 2 yards in that contest.

The Jets are revamping their offensive weapons this offseason ahead of the expected arrival of longtime Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Packers are expected to trade Rodgers to the Jets soon.

As for Moore moving on to the Browns, his new quarterback will be Deshaun Watson. Moore will join a Browns receiver room that already includes Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones.

In somewhat related news, Browns free-agent linebacker Anthony Walker, who visited this week with the Washington Commanders, has agreed to return to Cleveland on a one-year contract, per Schefter.
