The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released their first official injury report for Week 8 ahead of their Monday night home game against the Miami Dolphins and the Thursday offering shows a lot of good news when it comes to players listed on it.
Not practicing on Thursday for the Steelers was wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (illness) and hopefully he’ll be back out on the field on Friday.
Limited in Thursday’s practice for the Steelers was outside linebacker T.J. Watt (abdomen). While watt considers himself day-to-day, the early speculation is that he’ll be healthy enough to play Monday night against the dolphins.
Practicing fully on Thursday for the Steelers were quarterback Mason Rudolph (concussion), fullback Roosevelt Nix (knee), inside linebacker Mark Barron (hamstring), running back Jaylen Samuels (knee), wide receiver James Washington (shoulder), cornerback Mike Hilton (calf), cornerback Steve Nelson (groin), tight end Vance McDonald (shoulder) and cornerback Joe Haden (groin).
Of those nine players who are on the Thursday injury report that are listed as practicing fully, Rudolph, Nix, Barron, Samuels, Washington and Nelson all missed the team’s Week 6 road game with their ailments. Nix has been sidelined since Week 1, but it sounds like he’ll be back Monday night. It will be interesting to see if Samuels winds up being healthy enough to play Monday night with it not yet being a full month since he had his knee scoped.
As for Hilton and Haden, both suffered their respective injuries during the team’s last game prior to the bye week.
