The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released what will likely be their final injury report of Week 5 and the Friday offering shows some good news.
Not practicing again on Friday for the Steelers were outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo (foot) and fullback Roosevelt Nix (knee) and both players have been ruled out for the team’s Sunday home game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Practicing fully for the Steelers on Friday were running back James Conner (ankle), tight end Vance McDonald (shoulder), inside linebacker Vince Williams (hamstring) and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster (toe) and that’s encouraging news. Conner, McDonald and Smith-Schuster had failed to practice on both Wednesday and Thursday so they are moving in the right direction. McDonald, Smith-Schuster and Williams all end the week listed as questionable, however. Williams is expected to play Sunday and McDonald and Smith-Schuster might end up being game-time decisions. Conner did not receive a game designation on the Friday injury report so that’s a sign he should play on Sunday barring any kind of setback with his ankle.
Also practicing fully on Friday were guard Ramon Foster (not injury related), inside linebacker Mark Barron (not injury related), defensive tackle Cameron Heyward (quadricep), center Maurkice Pouncey (not injury related), and all five players end the week without game status designations. Foster, Barron and Pouncey were all given their usual veteran days off this week and that’s why the three were on the injury report.
