The Baltimore Ravens have now released their first injury report of Week 5 ahead of their Sunday road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Wednesday offering shows that a few key players sat out practice earlier in the day.
Not practicing on Wednesday for the Ravens were cornerback Jimmy Smith (knee), defensive tackle Brandon Williams (knee), safety Earl Thomas (not injury related) and tight end Mark Andrews (foot).
Smith has missed the Ravens last three games with his knee injury so there’s a good chance he sits out again Sunday against the Steelers. Should that be the case, cornerback Brandon Carr would likely start again in his place.
As for Williams, he missed the Ravens game this past Sunday against the Cleveland Browns so it will be interesting to see if he’s ultimately able to practice any in the next few days. As for Andrews, the Ravens leading receiver through four games, he’s been playing through his foot injury the last several weeks, so odds are good he’ll play Sunday against the Steelers.
Also on the Ravens Wednesday injury report is safety Brynden Trawick as he was limited in practice earlier in the day. Trawick, however, has been inactive for the Ravens the last two games.
