The Pittsburgh Steelers have now released their first injury report of Week 4 ahead of their Monday night home game against the Cincinnati Bengals and the Thursday offering shows that seven players failed to practice earlier in the day.
Not practicing on Thursday for the Steelers were cornerback Joe Haden (shoulder), fullback Roosevelt Nix (knee), center Maurkice Pouncey (not injury related), outside linebacker Anthony Chickillo (foot), tight end Vance McDonald (shoulder), and inside linebacker Vince Williams (hamstring).
Nix has already been ruled out for the Monday night game by head coach Mike Tomlin, who also said on Wednesday that Chickillo, McDonald and Williams would all begin this week as questionable. Chickillo and Williams both missed the team’s Week 3 game with their injuries so Friday might be a key day for both. As for McDonald, he injured his shoulder early in the second quarter of the team’s Sunday road loss. Tomlin did say on Wednesday that he was optimistic that McDonald will ultimately be able to play Monday night. Haden is expected to continue playing through his shoulder injury.
Pouncey and Barron were likely given veteran days off on Thursday and thus they likely both will practice on Friday.
Limited in practice for the Steelers on Thursday was outside linebacker Jayrone Elliott (hamstring). Tomlin did not mention Elliott during his Wednesday press conference
