The New England Patriots have now released their final injury report of Week 1 of the 2019 regular season and it shows that the three players that have been listed on it all week are questionable for the Sunday night game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Patriots tight end Matt LaCosse (ankle), wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (hamstring), and safety Obi Melifonwu (ankle) all are listed as questionable on the team’s Friday injury report after being limited participants in practice all week.
LaCosse and Thomas are both expected to play Sunday night against the Steelers. As for Melifonwu, it’s hard to say if he’ll dress Sunday night as he might be a fit for the Patriots inactive list regardless of his health. Lacosse hasn’t played since the Patriots preseason opener while Thomas only played in the team’s exhibition season finale.
The Patriots did make one roster move on Friday as they reportedly released center Russell Bodine and re-signed interior offensive lineman James Ferentz. Bodine was just acquired recently by the Patriots via a trade with the Buffalo Bills. Bodine was expected to back up center Ted Karras, who will start Sunday night against the Steelers in place of David Andrews, who was lost for the entire 2019 season last week due to blood clots being found on his lung.
