The San Francisco 49ers have now released their final injury report of Week 3 ahead of their Sunday home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Friday offering shows that four players have been ruled out for that contest.
Not practicing on Friday for the 49ers were running back Tevin Coleman (ankle), wide receiver Jalen Hurd (back), cornerback Richard Sherman (not injury related), tackle Joe Staley (fibula), and wide receiver Trent Taylor (foot). Of those five players, Coleman, Hurd, Staley and Taylor have been officially ruled out for the Sunday game against the Steelers.
Taylor has since been placed on the 49ers Reserve/Injured list and while Sherman was added to the injury report on Friday, he was simply given the day off and thus didn’t receive a game status designation.
After being limited in practice again on Friday for the 49ers, defensive end Nick Bosa (ankle), defensive end Dee Ford (quadricep), safety Jaquiski Tartt (toe), and safety Jimmie Ward (hand) all end the week listed as questionable on the injury report. Current speculation is that Bosa, Ford and Tartt will all play against the Steelers on Sunday. It will be interesting to see if Ward ultimately gets the green light to play as well.
The 49ers announced on Friday they have signed tackle Sam Young to a one-year deal to replace Taylor on the team’s 53-man roster.
