Well, this same time next week the Pittsburgh Steelers will have had their first training camp practice of 2019. Thank goodness the slowest part of the offseason is now coming to an end.
Three weeks from today the Steelers will play their firs preseason game of 2019 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Personally, I can’t wait for that game even though it will be full of third-stringers playing most of it.
Next week I end my offseason with a trip to the psychiatrist and another one to the dentist. Thursday morning I also go give another shot of blood bright and early. After that, I hope I am done with the doctors for at least two months.
I hope we were able to keep all of yinz occupied and entertained throughout the offseason. The SD crew has done an amazing job of keeping some great content flowing and I am very proud of their efforts. Now we’re ready for the season to start.

Ok, let’s get to tonight’s five questions:
1 – With training camp about to begin, name the members of this year’s Steelers draft class that won’t make the Week 1 53-man roster.
2 – On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being most-excellent, rate the overall quality of the Steelers offseason in its totality from the start of the new league year in March until now.
3 – True or false: Joe Haden will get a new contract before the start of the 2019 regular season.
4 – True or false: Steelers rookie outside linebacker Sutton Smith will have more than 2 sacks during the preseason.
5 – True or false: The Baltimore Ravens will win more than 8 games in 2019.
Recap of 2 Weeks Before 2019 Training Camp Friday Night Questions
Question 1: Steelers Depot Friday Night questions respondents love Vance McDonald but continue to question whether he will end up a wounded Vanimal in 2019. A narrow 52.6% majority believe McDonald will play more than 59% of the Steelers offensive snaps. This would be higher, but many naysayers cited his injury history. Vance has never played a full 16 game season. He played as many as 15 games twice – his rookie season and last year with the Steelers. His 50.54% of offensive snaps last season was the most team snaps he has played in his career.
Question 2: Steelers Depot respondents predict Joe Haden is most likely to sign a contract extension prior to the start of the 2019 season. Javon Hargrave and BJ Finney followed. Sean Davis got a couple mentions but no one predicts Mike Hilton getting an extension.
Question 3: The median response is that 2 AFC North teams will finish better than 8-8 with one getting more than 10 wins. A lot of folks saw the Steelers, Browns & Ravens finishing anywhere from 8-8 to 10-6. The optimists have the Steelers as the only division team with more than 10 wins. Meanwhile, most predict the Bengal’s finishing well below 8-8.
Question 4: No one seems bothered by Steelers players making grand entrances on reporting day at Saint Vincent College. Several folks would like it toned down a little, while one wants to see Vince Williams leading the linebacker crew coming in on Harley-Davidson choppers.
Question 5: 63.2% believe the Steelers will use 00 personnel (5 wide receivers) at least 12 times in their season opener against the New England Patriots. Regardless if they are under or over, just want to see a Steelers win.
