The Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to terms with 13 undrafted free agents at the conclusion of the 2018 NFL Draft and now that several of these players have signed their three-year contracts, we can pass along the details of 5 more of those deals courtesy of former NFL agent Joel Corry and the NFLPA public salary cap report. If you missed the details of the previous seven undrafted free agent contracts, you can view them by following this link.
Once again, let it be known that the undrafted rookie reservation amount for 2018 is $103,856, according to Corry. That number is the maximum amount of signing bonuses teams are allowed to give to undrafted free agents in 2018 and is a fixed percentage of the total Rookie Compensation Pool for 2018.
Of the five undrafted Steelers free agents listed below, Olasunkanmi Adeniyi, Jamar Summers, Parker Cothren, Pharoah McKever, and Ikenna Nwokeji, Adeniyi received the largest signing bonus which was $15,000. He is followed by Summers and McKever at $5,000 each, according to Corry. Cothren received a 3,000 signing bonus while Nwokeji received a $2,000 signing bonus.
To date, the 12 undrafted free agents we have contract details for have used up just $29,329 of salary cap space being as just one-third of their total bonus amounts count against the 2018 rule of 51 number.
I’ll pass along the final undrafted free agent contract of linebacker Matthew Thomas as soon as the full details become available. His signing officially hit the NFL transaction sheet on Thursday and make sure you follow Corry on Twitter at @corryjoel.
