Another Pittsburgh Steelers pre-draft visit is coming into town today According to ESPN Pittsburgh’s Adam Crowley, West Virginia safety Kyzir White is conducting a pre-draft visit with the Steelers Friday.
This should count as a local visit, not against their allotted 30, since WVU is one of the schools considered in the Steelers “area.”
Still, White is considered one of the better safeties in this year’s class and is projected to be taken somewhere on Day Two. A two-year JUCO transfer, he started 2016 and 2017 for the Mountaineers. Last season, he racked up 94 tackles (7.5 TFL), with three interceptions and a pair of forced fumbles.
He’s the younger brother of Kevin White, the former Chicago Bears first round pick. Weighing in at 6’2, 218 pounds at the Combine, he did not run the 40 but jumped 35.5 inches in the vert and 9’5″ in the broad. According to West Virginia’s website, he ran a 4.62 at his Pro Day.
Pittsburgh will be in the market for a safety sometime fairly early in the draft and likely within the first three rounds. If they don’t snag one in the first, Jessie Bates or Justin Reid, White could be on their radar in rounds two and three. Check out our draft profile on him below.
