Senquez Golson is getting another shot in the NFL. According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Oakland Raiders just signed him.
Injuries completely derailed Golson’s Steelers career after having high hopes as a second round pick in 2015. He never made it to even a preseason game and participated in just seven training camp practices over the course of three years. Last year, a hamstring injury while running down a punt ended his season and Pittsburgh finally cut ties, releasing him at cutdowns.
He briefly spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, lasting from November 15th to the 22nd. He’s been out of the league ever since.
Oakland will cross their fingers for good health and that Golson still has the talent that made him a star player at Ole Miss and worthy of a high draft pick. Here’s to hoping he’ll be able to stay healthy and get a fair shake at playing in the NFL. You have to think that if it doesn’t work out in Oakland, his NFL career will be over.
