The Youngstown State pro day is taking place on Tuesday and as expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers have someone present to watch edge-rusher Derek Rivers go through the paces.
According to Zac Jackson on Twitter, Steelers linebackers coach Joey Porter is present for the Youngstown State pro day as is New York Jets linebackers coach Kevin Greene.
Rivers, who played 49 career college games, rerecorded 58 total tackles last season and that included 14 sacks. He finished his college career with 37.5 total sacks.
At the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine, Rivers measured in at 6035, 248 pounds and ran the 40 in 4.61 seconds. Rivers is expected to be selected in the first two rounds of the 2017 NFL Draft.
Edge-rusher Avery Moss is also likely being watched by Porter on Tuesday and with good reason as he had 59 total tackles last season and that included 10.5 sacks. Moss, who transferred to Youngstown State from Nebraska a few years ago after he was convicted of public indecency and subsequently banned from the campus, could go undrafted this year.
