It’s now looking like the Pittsburgh Steelers won’t be getting get one of their key offensive backups back this weekend for their road game against the Cincinatti Bengals.
According to the Steelers Thursday injury report, running back DeAngelo Williams (knee) failed to practice earlier in the day. Williams was listed as practicing fully on Wednesday so his knee must not have responded well to that work. Also sitting out Thursday were wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot) and safety Shamarko Thomas (concussion). Neither are expected to play against the Bengals.
There was some good news on the Steelers Thursday injury report, however, as tackle Marcus Gilbert (ankle), center Maurkice Pouncey (not injury related), quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (not injury related), guard B.J. Finney (concussion), guard Ramon Foster (chest), and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave (concussion) all practiced fully. Gilbert was listed Wednesday as being limited.
Foster and Hargrave both missed the Steelers game this past Sunday against the Buffalo Bills with their injuries. As for Finney, it looks like he’s on track to play against the Bengals after being placed in concussion protocol following the game against the Bills.
