The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the New York Giants Sunday at Heinz Field to move to 7-5 on the season. The team did suffer a few injuries during the contest, however, and head coach Mike Tomlin recapped them during his post-game press conference.
Per Tomlin, safety Shamarko Thomas and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave are both currently in concussion protocol after being forced from Sunday’s game.
“We’ll update you guys in the appropriate way as we go through the week,” Tomlin said of those two players.
As for kicker Chris Boswell, who missed Sundays game with abdominal injury, Tomlin doesn’t think it will be one that sidelines him long-term.
“I don’t believe so, but we’ll play it by ear,” said Tomlin. “We really haven’t had a great deal of time to evaluate it. It happened after practice on Friday, we were doing some cleanup game prep things that we normally do regularly scheduled on Friday. So, hadn’t had a lot of time to analyze it.”
In addition to Boswell, wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (foot) and running back DeAngelo Williams (knee) both missed Sunday’s game with injuries.
