The Pittsburgh Steelers are now the AFC North champions and the No. 3 seed in their conference following their Sunday night come-from-behind victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Now, with one week left in the 2016 regular season, the Steelers now own the third-best odds when it comes to them potentially being the Super Bowl LI champions.
According to Bovada, the Steelers are now listed at 8/1 to win the Super Bowl in February and only the New England Patriots and Dallas Cowboys have better odds. Two weeks ago the Steelers were listed at a 9/1 by the online sportsbook.
As of Sunday night, we now know the six teams in the AFC who will be in the playoffs but we don’t yet know who will play who in the Wild Card round. Even so, the Steelers will host either the Kansas City Chiefs or the Miami Dolphins at Heinz Field in one of the two AFC Wild Card games depending on what ultimately happens with those two teams this coming Sunday.
This past February, the Steelers were listed at 12/1 odds to win Super Bowl LI by several online sportsbooks. Since then, however, the Steelers have lost a few players to injuries and suspensions in addition to going through a four-game losing streak after starting the regular season 4-1.
The road to Super Bowl LI will obviously likely go through Foxborough starting several weeks from now and hopefully the Steelers will get a chance to avenge their Week 7 Roethlisberger-less loss to the Patriots at Heinz Field. Assuming the Patriots secure the No. 1 seed in the AFC in Week 17, the only way the Steelers will play the Patriots is if the two teams meet in the AFC Championship game.
