The Cincinnati Bengals followed the Pittsburgh Steelers and just issued their first practice report of the week. TE Tyler Eifert and DT Pat Sims were held out of practice. DE Carlos Dunlap and CB Adam Jones were limited, per Bob Labriola.
CB Darqueze Dennard was a full participant.
An ankle injury caused Dennard to miss last week’s opener against the New York Jets. He seems to be available for them this week.
Eifert was already assumed out, still recovering from offseason ankle surgery, but was officially ruled out by the team this afternoon. He is still expected to miss the first month of the season. Sims is one of their big-bodied nose tackles to clog the middle while Dunlap and Jones are some of their best defensive players. There’s currently no reason to believe those two players will miss this week.
Linebacker Vontaze Burfict will miss due to his suspension, imposed by the league following his actions in last year’s playoff game against the Steelers. Pittsburgh will remain without Le’Veon Bell for another two weeks.
