New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall has thrown down the gauntlet to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown as he wants him to put up his pink slip to the Rolls Royce as part of a receiving contest during the 2016 NFL season.
Marshall issued Brown a video challenge Wednesday night via Instagram and it involves him betting his Porsche. If Brown has more receiving yards than Marshall, the Jets wide receiver will give him his custom Jets-themed Porsche. However, if Marshall has more than Brown, he’ll expect the Steelers wide receiver to give him his Rolls Royce.
Brown caught 136 passes for 1,834 yards and 10 touchdowns last season while the 32-year-old Marshall registered 109 receptions for 1,502 yards and 14 touchdowns. Marshall was probably real excited on Wednesday as the Jets finally re-signed quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.
This sure seems like easy money, or in this case car, for Brown and it will be interesting to see if the bet is agreed to. Barring injury, Brown could set new NFL records in 2016 on his way to becoming the first wide receiver to win the league’s annual MVP award.
