Happy Friday to all of you and I hope you all realize that the start of the Pittsburgh Steelers 2016 training camp is now just 7 weeks away. The Steelers wrapped up their annual OTAs this past week and the players will now have a few days off before their mandatory three-day minicamp gets underway on June 14. Tick, time, tick!
While we weren’t privy to a lot of information that pertains to what happened on the field this past week during the team’s practices, several coaches were allowed to talk to the media. It wasn’t much, but at least it gave us a few things to write about and discuss. We’ll see how the information flows next week, but don’t count on learning much more than you already know right now. However, you can once again count on Alex Kozora giving you full updates after every training camp practice this year.
It’s unfortunate that the Pittsburgh Penguins weren’t able to win the Stanley Cup Thursday night at home as it would’ve been great to see the crowds celebrate in the streets afterwards. Hopefully they will get it done Sunday night on the road and avoid a Game 7 back in Pittsburgh.
As usual, I have five questions for you to answer on this Friday night and this time they all come from readers who suggested them in last week’s post. I hope you will take time out to give your responses to them in the comments below.
Before I get to the questions, I would like to make sure to tip my cap to Matthew Marczi, who, as of the first of this month, has now been with me for three full years. As you should all know by now, he is clearly the best writer on this site and he has worked without the need of any direction for as long as I can remember. The site wouldn’t be what it is today without him and all of his efforts. Thank you, Matthew.
Now on to this week’s five questions:
1 – Now that the Chris Rainey/Dri Archer experiments are over and Jordan Todman is gone, would you like to see the Steelers pick up another scatback type after the final training camp cuts are made around the league? Submitted by: SoCal Steeler
2- Of the players the Steelers lost this offseason via free agency which one do you think is going have the best season? Submitted by: Reg Sayhitodabadguy Hunt
3 – Does Ben Roethlisberger need another Super Bowl ring to be considered the best quarterback in the history of the Steelers? Submitted by: steel67
4 – Does any player on the Steelers defense have a legitimate chance of being named Defensive Player of the Year in 2016? Submitted by: IndianaCarson
5 – Which is more likely to happen in 2016: 10 sacks from Bud Dupree, or 4 interceptions from either Artie Burns or Senquez Golson? Submitted by: Kevin Schwartz
