Joe Greene Present At Texas Pro Day

College pro days are now in full-swing and as expected, the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to have some sort of presence at several of them.

On Thursday, Joe Greene was spotted at the University of Texas pro day and that’s not surprising being as he lives in the state. Being as Texas defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway and defensive end Shiro Davis were two of the main draws on Wednesday, it’s a good bet that Greene was there keeping a close eye on their workouts as a consultant. It is unknown as to whether or not any other Steelers scouts or coaches are in attendance but odds are pretty good that Greene is not there alone.

According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com, Ridgeway had a great workout on Wednesday that included him posting times of 4.69 seconds and 7.33 seconds in the 20-yard short-shuttle and 3-cone drills respectively.

As for Davis, Brandt reports that he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.75 and 4.76 seconds in addition to posting a 34 1/2-inch vertical jump and 10-foot-5 broad jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.46 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.26 seconds in addition to doing 29 reps on the bench. Due to Davis’ measurables, (6-2 7/8, 267), several teams might be considering him as potential 3-4 outside linebacker candidate at the NFL level in addition to other teams looking at him as a 4-3 defensive end.

Wide receiver Marcus Johnson and cornerback Duke Thomas are two other players Brandt mentioned in his pro day report.
