The Pittsburgh Steelers have now wrapped up their Thursday practice and their afternoon injury report includes some good news when it comes to players who failed to practice on Wednesday.
For starters, tight ends Heath Miller (rib) and Matt Spaeth (knee) both practiced fully after sitting out the team’s Wednesday session and both are expected to be ready for Sunday when the Steelers host the Denver Broncos at Heinz Field. Cornerback William Gay (not injury related) and linebacker James Harrison (not injury related) both also practiced Thursday after being given Wednesday off.
Safety Mike Mitchell (shoulder) failed to practice again on Thursday so we’ll have to watch his Friday status closely. Head coach Mike Tomlin did admit on Tuesday that the veteran safety might be “uncomfortable” this week due to the shoulder injury he suffered last Sunday.
The Steelers added two players to their injury report on Thursday as linebacker Ryan Shazier (knee) and running back DeAngelo Williams (illness) both sat out the session. It appears as though Shazier might just be getting a weekly day off to rest his knee. Safety Will Allen (not injury related) was also added on Thursday as he was given a veteran day off.
Linebacker Bud Dupree (back) was limited Thursday after sitting out Wednesday.
