Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton has left Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with an injured thumb and will not return.
Dalton apparently injured his right thumb while tackling Steelers defensive end Stephon Tuitt following a first quarter interception. Tuitt picked off Dalton as he was attempting to dump off a short throw to running back Giovani Bernard.
Dalton will be replaced in the game by A.J. McCarron.
The Steelers currently lead the Bengals 7-0 thanks to a one-yard score by running back DeAngelo Williams.
